2017 HEALING LODGE WORKSHOPS

In addition to the Community Circles and Ceremonies offered for the Healing Lodge Program, we are excited to offer these upcoming workshops at the Native Friendship Centre of Montreal this Winter and Spring of 2017.

The Healing Lodge Program is dedicated to the health and well-being of Residential School Survivors and their family members. We also welcome members of the Urban Native community and service providers to attend the upcoming events. Space and materials are limited, therefore sign-up is required to secure participation in the workshops.


REGALIA MAKING - Make your own Ribbon Skirt / Shirt

With Jodi Golder and Andrew Pederson

Learn how to make your own ribbon shirt and/or ribbon skirt for ceremony. All materials provided. Sign-up required, space is limited.

**Childminding available for parents or guardians. Dinner will be provided for participants.

Location: Youth Centre in the Native Friendship Centre of Montreal

Dates: Every Wednesday night in January 2017  (Jan 4, 11, 18, 25)

MEDICINE MAKING WORKSHOP

Learn how to make a traditional medicine salve and healing tea to treat and prevent cold and flu. All materials provided. Sign-up required, space is limited.

CREE STORYTELLING – HEALING THROUGH STORIES

With Elma Moses, Member of the Cree Nation of Eastmain, Eeyou Istchee

Learn from Eeyou/Cree Storyteller and Residential School Survivor, Dr. Elma Moses. Elma will share how our languages and storytelling can help with our healing.
